I had bought a NSC (National Savings Certificate) 6 years ago which got matured by this year February.
To encash the certificate, I went to the post office (Ashok nagar, Chennai) where I had bought the certificate. By providing the photocopy of my own identity, I got the cash for the matured amount.
To encash the matured NSC, one had to
- Go to the post office where the certificate is bought. Timing: Mon-Fri 10:00AM to 02:30PM, Sat 10:00AM to 12:30PM.
- Produce the proof of identity. And provide the photocopy of it.
- Get the cash if the matured amount is less than Rs 20000 or the cheque for the amount greater than Rs 20000.
